I don’t know what to think about Capt. Jack Harkness on Torchwood. He is freakishly mysterious, handsome, and seems to enjoy sexual relations with males and females of both earthly and otherworldly persuasions. In the episode “Captain Jack Harkness” we find out that he isn’t really Capt. Jack, but that the dude he’s embracing is the real “Capt. Jack.” Long story, of his life during 1941. Capt. Jack is apparently, immortal.

Immortal–and loved by many. Here’s the embrace between him and one of his employees when he “returns from the dead.”

But this guy has more of a father/son relationship with Capt. Jack.

I can’t wait until January to find out more! Gods bless BBCAmerica for Torchwood!

“Fluid Sexuality” is how Wikipedia described “Torchwood.” I guess this video says it all.

  1. As Captain Jack said when we first met him, “So many species, so little time.”

  2. I hope in season two he just does them all. Oh, goodness! Thank you for those dvd’s, Cauldron, my friend!

I LOVE this show. If you were a fan of Martha from Dr. Who last season, she is going to be guesting on a few episodes. I can’t wait, Jan 26th seems so far away. *sigh*

I adore Torchwood. And I’ve loved Captain Jack since I first saw him on Dr. Who and he planted a kiss on the Doctor! LOL

John Barrowman, an out & proud gay man who is married to his long time partner, called Captain Jack “omnisexual”. *cackle* Love that phrase.

BBCA is showing the second season in tandem with the UK airing because of the huge ratings the show has received in America. Usually, there’s a delay of some months between the UK and US showing. I’m thrilled that I won’t have to wait!

I’ve seen the UK uncut versions through “alternate” methods but that doesn’t stop me from being glued to my TV on Saturday night! And I’ll be curious about the cuts in season 2 to make the show fit US time frames. I might have to view it in more than one way!

  5. I’ve not seen the kiss between Dr. Who and Capt. Jack–but I’d like to!

I’d also like to know your sources for “alternative viewing” Shayla. I don’t want EDITED versions of Torchwood!

I like this show as much as LOST!

  6. Shayla Kersten says:

I believe the Doctor/Jack kiss was in 2005 series episode “The Doctor Dances” when Christopher Eccleston played the Doctor.

As far as alternate means, we’ll have to talk privately. *cackle*

Oh, I totally adore this show!! I’ve seen all the episodes more than once (on TV and also via alternate means ;)) and, of course, all the Doctor Who episodes from the beginning as well. I just love John Barrowman, and I’m hoping there’s some more, More, MORE onscreen intimacies between Capt. Jack and Ianto in the upcoming season. Yum!!

  8. Marty Rayne says:

I’ve just recently got into Torchwood. Since I don’t get BBCAmerica, I’m always an eppi or two behind because it actually airs on an HD network (no commerical :D ) I LOVE the show and Jack is definately my favorite and very drool-worthy :D He’s just so hot when he kisses another man *drool*
